From SC Back to Georgia: Lindsey Graham’s Election Grand Jury Case Moves

The investigation into Senator Lindsey Graham’s alleged involvement in election interference has resumed. Because everyone involved agreed that Georgia would be the best place to fight the issue, the case has made its way from Atlanta to Greenville and Charleston.

Attorney Chris Adams, representing Fulton County District Attorney Fani T. Willis, said, “There’s just no issue in front of the South Carolina courts. The proper place for this to be litigated is in Atlanta.”

The conflict stems from the 2020 presidential election when Graham reportedly sought to help Trump win Georgia by contacting the state’s secretary of state, Brad Raffensperger.

Graham and his attorneys have disputed the interpretation of this communication by Georgia prosecutors. Graham’s legal counsel claims that as chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, he was within his rights to look into state election processes and that he should not be a subject or target of the investigation.

Adams stated that Georgia court authorities would be open to scheduling the case’s next hearing around Graham’s obligations as a U.S. senator, even though no court date has been set.

The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia or Fulton County Superior Court will serve as the venue.
